Paquette's Camp update June 26th, 2012

Summer is offically started and it feels like it, temperatures are supposed to be around 90 degrees for the rest of the week, not the best weather for fishing but great weather for everything else.

The fishing has been good the last couple of weeks and should get better as we get through this high pressure system and back to cooler days. I expect to see people in the lake swimming quite a bit the rest of the week

The new deck is on the office, now you can have a comfortable place to sit with internet access.
The addition to the back of it is a work in progress and will get finished as time permits.

Only 3 days of school left  and Sue is looking forward to the last day, makes her a bit jealous when she sees the people here from the states that have been out since the begining of June.

There  was a Moose spotted in the front yard of cabin 6 the other day and the next day it was seen swimming from the island back to shore. There have also been Bears in the area but our dogs are great for keeping them out of the camp,we  have not had any instances of them here bothering anything.

Summer is offically here and with weather in the 90 degree range for the rest of the week the swim platforms should see a lot of use.
For those of you that need to work on your computer while at Paquette' s Camp you will find a comfortable place to lounge, the new deck is finished on the office where you will find internet access.
Logan had a lot of fun casting off the docks, he caught  many Small Mouth Bass and Perch!
Hugh and Logan after a day of fishing for Northern Pike, nothing huge today but some nice fish!
Bob with a Northern Pike on a recent trip to Paquette's Camp, looks like fish for supper!
I don't know for sure who caught these fish, looks like no one wants to take credit they are hiding their faces, but looks like they had a good day!
Logan shows off his 22 inch Walleye, he had the biggest Walley of the day that day.

Paquette's Camp update June 8th, 2012

The weather has cooled and been rainy. this has helped greatly with the forest fires in the area, they are all under control now. We can even have camp fires again.

For all of you Black Fly lovers, there are all but gone now, there are a few mosquitoes. All in all the bug situation is quite good right now, no head nets required!

I have been out fishing a couple of times in the last week and the fish were biting well, we caught some nice Walleye and Pike with the biggest Pike being about 15 pounds, should be a good week coming up for everyone here then.

I have also been trying to catch up on some projects, Cabin 5 has just had a new delux outhouse built, the docks have all been repaired, and hopefully in the next couple of weeks there will be a new deck built onto the office so that internet users will have a comfortable place to sit and work on their computers if they are unlucky enough to have to work while they are here.

It is quite easy to tell there is someone in the cabin, the dogs are waiting for their handouts!
Nice catch of fish, there are both Walleye and Northern pike in the picture, and no he did not catch them all himself!
You may remember Darrell from his pictures with a nice bear this past fall, he is up fishing instead of hunting this spring. He has some nice Nothern Pike, looks like he can fish as well as hunt!
Mark and Mathew are quite happy with their nice catch of  Walleye while on a recent trip to Paquette's Camp.  Nice fish guys!
